Researchers found that global life expectancy is now longer in 2022 than in the 2000s by about six to seven years. And generally, this is perceived as a good thing, right? Surprisingly and unfortunately it’s not all good and we're here to tell you why.

We all know that as we grow older our body and mind weaken. This poses the problem that because we are now living longer, our body is now more prone to medical impairments that are usually seen in the later stages of life, like diabetes, cancer, and most of all Alzheimer's and dementia.

Alzheimer’s is a cognitive disorder that is now the seventh leading cause of death according to WHO and the alarming issue here is the misconception that it is an age-related disease and the lack of tests that can be administered to possibly identify symptoms or early stages of the disease.

In this episode, we are joined by Thomas O’Neill, CEO of Cognivue, a company that developed the first FDA-cleared technology for cognitive function, as he shares how cognitive health can elevate overall healthcare and increase our awareness so we can be better prepared for healthy aging.

To learn more about Cognivue, stay tuned to today’s episode!
Memorable Quotes:

  • I can tell you that 90% of the time hearing aids are driven by wives dragging their husbands into the office, saying he's not listening. He can't hear right. And that happens all the time. So we need to screen, we need to look. If we don't look, we can't fix it. - Dr. Trinh
  • It takes me 20 seconds to tell somebody to go exercise and watch their diet and it means nothing. They walk up the door and they see me in another six months. Yep, nothing changes right there. There's no incentive. Knowledge is not enough. You need to actually have the data about what's going on with you. - Dr. Trinh
  • This is a movement that is not only a healthcare issue but a society issue. And if we don't all start leading from the front, we're gonna have a much bigger issue going down the road. - Thomas O’Neill
