This week on The Habit Hub for Autoimmune Health, I am joined by the one and only, Julie Stamm.

Julie is a treasure in the world of inclusion, parenting, vulnerability, smarts, and all around generous hearts. You’ll likely notice during our chat that we, at times, got so lost in the conversation that we forgot we were recording.

You’ll hear laughter, tears, connection, and PURE WISDOM when it comes to shaping the future generation to live with a greater understanding of people (like you and me) living with a chronic disease.

Here are a few highlights…

  • Parenting with a chronic illness and the importance of advocating for oneself and teaching children to do the same.
  • Julie's experience of writing letters to her son to apologize for her limitations and the ways he turned them into her super powers
  • The inclusion deck Julie created to teach children about disabilities and the importance of using positive language.
  • Julie's experience with anxiety and her preference for feeling her emotions, even if it means experiencing anxiety.
  • A gratitude session for the supportive partners in our lives AND
  • Our secret to finding them
  • Encouraging empathy and consideration for others by asking children what would make the world a better place.
  • The power of humor in coping with chronic illness, a strength that we (at times) can overuse 😂
