Today I started with the definition of Stress as it is defined in Web MD. According to this, stress is the’s body reaction to the pressure of a circumstance or event. It can show in different ways, physical, mental, etc. We all feel stressed at one time or another and in recognizing it and honoring our bodies to feel and work it out we make decisions that will stop these stressors from becoming more intense and really affecting our health in a major way. There are things to recognize as the difference between stress vs. anxiety. Where Anxiety can stay in your body for a longer period of time, stress can come and go, but stress can become chronic is when it stays for a long time and your body doesn’t know how to handle it.

In my own personal experience with chronic stress and realizing what it was I learned some mechanisms to help control it. Below I share some insights into these.

My top 5 recommendations to manage chronic stress are:

  • Create a list of tasks/responsibilities that have become stressors for your life.
  • Evaluate the above and find the ones you can take away.
  • Next up, find the ones you can delegate.
  • After this find the ones that you can decrease the frequency or make it less intense.
  • Lastly, try to integrate coping skills throughout the day even as you work through a task.

I hope this helps!
