Join me as I interview Dr. Nancy Lonsdorf as she describes how she came to write her recent book titled "The Healthy Brain Solution for Women over Forty." Dr. Lonsdorf has integrated Ayurveda and functional medicine into her medical practice for 30+ years. Cited by the Chicago Tribune as one of the top Ayurvedic physicians in the country, Dr. Lonsdorf integrates Ayurvedic principles first introduced by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (founder of TM) almost 30 years ago. In this interview, Dr. Lonsdorf describes her multi-faceted approach to treating patients with cognitive issues ranging from mild cognitive impairment to Alzheimer's disease. Trained in Dr. Dale Bredeson's (author of the bestselling book "The End of Alzheimer's) ReCODE protocol, Dr. Lonsdorf introduces a multi-facted approach to successfully treating cognitive decline. Her decades of practice in the arena of women's health led her to examine how women's brains age differently than men's and how, with a plan and action, women can retain mental acuity and sharpness through their forties, fifties, sixties and beyond. Dr. Lonsdorf emphasizes the importance of assessing and adressing imbalances as early as age 40 and views the decade between 45 and 55 to be critical. The information she shares empowers women to take responsibility for their brain health, which is closely linked to inflammatory markers, the microbiome, blood sugar, nutrient deficiencies, hormone levels, and even environmental toxins. Dr. Lonsdorf offers a self-directed course titled "My Ageless Brain" on her website https://www.myagelessbrain.com/. You can also find Dr. Lonsdorf on https://drlonsdorf.com/ and http://drnancyhealth.com/ Her practice is located in Fairfield, Iowa, and Pacific Pearl La Jolla, San Diego, California.
