Here's the weather script:
Good morning, Chicago! Let's dive into today's forecast with a mix of winter chill and some interesting weather twists.
Overnight, we're looking at a frosty scene with isolated snow showers before 4 in the morning. Expect mostly cloudy skies and a steady temperature hovering around 22 degrees Fahrenheit. Those west southwest winds will be kicking up to around 15 miles per hour, with gusts potentially reaching 25 miles per hour. There's a slight 20 percent chance of precipitation, so keep those winter coats handy!
Thursday brings a bit of sunshine to break up the winter monotony. We'll see partly sunny skies with temperatures climbing to a near-balmy 35 degrees Fahrenheit. West northwest winds will be dancing around 15 miles per hour, with gusts potentially hitting 30 miles per hour - so maybe hold onto your hat!
As we roll into Thursday night, expect partly cloudy conditions with temperatures dipping to around 24 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds will be playing a little game of musical chairs, starting west northwest and then shifting to south southwest after midnight.
Friday looks promising with mostly sunny skies and temperatures reaching near 38 degrees Fahrenheit. It'll be a bit breezy with south winds between 15 to 20 miles per hour and gusts up to 30 miles per hour.
The weekend ahead? Bundle up, Chicago! Saturday will be partly sunny with a high near 26 degrees Fahrenheit, dropping to a chilly 7 degrees Saturday night. Sunday continues the cold trend with partly sunny skies and a high near 11 degrees Fahrenheit.
Martin Luther King Day looks cold but bright - expect mostly sunny conditions with temperatures struggling to reach 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Tuesday follows suit with sunny and cold conditions, reaching a high of 9 degrees Fahrenheit.
