Welcome back to season three of the Kiki Kirby Podcast - Evolving in a heart centred way.

People are important.

You are important.

Mental health is everyone’s business.

Today is #Worldmentalhealthdaytoday, let’s take a moment to check in with ourselves, our friends, our colleagues and loved ones.

Mental health is our priority for us daily.

Let’s do it together. Talking about our mental health can help us cope better with life’s ups and downs.

“Your mental health is a priority. Your happiness is an essential. Your self-care is a necessity.”

It matters today and every day let’s recognise this and encourage open conversations about mental wellbeing and sharing ideas and resources for supporting our own and others mental health.

This year’s theme set by the World Federation of Mental Health is workplace mental health. The theme highlights the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, for the benefit of people, organisations, and communities.

Mental health at work includes creating a supportive environment, encouraging open conversations, offering resources like counseling, ensuring manageable workloads, and fostering a culture of respect and balance. It’s crucial for employee retention, performance, and overall company and team success.

We all have times when we feel down or stressed or frightened.

Most of the time those feelings pass.

But sometimes they develop into a more serious problem and that could happen to any one of us.

Everyone is different. You may bounce back from a setback while someone else may feel weighed down by it for a long time.

Your mental health doesn’t always stay the same. It can change as circumstances change and as you move through different stages of your life.

Work can have a huge impact on our mental health. It can be good for our mental health, giving us a sense of purpose, boosting our self-worth, and providing opportunities to connect with others. But it can also be a source of stress and anxiety and contribute to developing or worsening mental health problems.
