S12 E1 - Reablement

We’re back! After months of preparation and planning, we’ve got an amazing new series of the MDTea Podcast for you to enjoy. After taking a journey in Series 11 where we met each member of the hospital MDT (along with our patient, Jean) we’re ready to go again! And this time we’ll be joining Jean as she is discharged back into the community, and meets lots of the teams involved with her community healthcare.
On this first episode we’re considering reablement and what exactly that means for patients like Jean, who are continuing their healthcare journey outside the hospital setting. We’ll explore the concept of reablement, discuss the roles of people involved in this area, and find out how reablement teams encourage patients to take the lead in regaining independence at home post-discharge.
We have a few new features for this series too! We’ll be discussing our Paper of the Week, doing our usual social media slot, and we’re extremely excited to announce a couple of new games for this series! Stephen will be stepping up in this episode for our fast-paced and unpredictable One Minute Recap game, and we’ll be giving you listeners a brutally tough Wordle MDTeaser to think through over the next few days (with prizes up for grabs)!
