With a rich background at Olympiatoppen, including a stint as the head of research and development, Sandbakk has authored numerous books and over 200 studies. As the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Sport Physiology and Performance, Sandbakk continues to shape the discourse in sports research. Sandbakk, a seasoned cross-country athlete, is happily married to Silvana Bucher Sandbakk, an associate professor and former member of Switzerland's national running team.
