Susie Allen, a former IT professional turned clinical nutritionist, shares her journey of transitioning into the field of natural medicine and her experience with metabolic balance. She discusses how she used food as medicine to address health issues such as polycystic ovary syndrome, chronic pain, and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). Susie emphasizes the importance of understanding the science behind nutrition and how it can be used to optimize health. She also highlights the role of metabolic balance in reducing inflammation and improving overall well-being. Susie's story showcases the power of personalized nutrition and the benefits of a holistic approach to health. The conversation explores the importance of self-care and the challenges faced by women in the 'sandwich generation' who are juggling the responsibilities of caring for both their children and aging parents. The concept of rushing women's syndrome is discussed, highlighting the tendency for women to constantly rush and neglect their own well-being. The conversation also touches on the impact of metabolic balance on managing stress and burnout, as well as the importance of finding balance and making mindful choices in nutrition. The focus of the Susie's future practice is on supporting individuals with ADHD, neurodiversity, and reproductive conditions, and addressing the root causes of health issues through metabolic health.
