In the spirit of PRIDE month, Beyond the Label wants to destigmatize what being gay means. Our host Leanne interviewed Ivan from Malaysia in this episode and explored the unknowns of the gay world. Ivan shares with us his early life as a Malaysian where being gay is illegal, how it affected him, how he came out to his family, and his journey to find himself.
Ivan also talks about the stereotype of gay people, realities in the gay community, and what consent looks like.
His honest and eye-opening sharing moved us and inspired us to look at things from a different perspective.
