1 Amy Schumer & Brianne Howey on the Importance of Female Friendships, Navigating Hollywood's Double Standards, Sharing Their Birth Stories, and MORE 50:05
This week, in what might be the funniest episode yet, Molly and Emese are joined by co-stars Amy Schumer and Brianne Howey. They get candid about motherhood, career evolution, and their new film, Kinda Pregnant —which unexpectedly led to Amy’s latest health discovery. Amy opens up about how public criticism led her to uncover her Cushing syndrome diagnosis, what it’s like to navigate comedy and Hollywood as a mom, and the importance of sharing birth stories without shame. Brianne shares how becoming a mother has shifted her perspective on work, how Ginny & Georgia ’s Georgia Miller compares to real-life parenting, and the power of female friendships in the industry. We also go behind the scenes of their new Netflix film, Kinda Pregnant —how Molly first got the script, why Amy and Brianne were drawn to the project, and what it means for women today. Plus, they reflect on their early career struggles, the moment they knew they “made it,” and how motherhood has reshaped their ambitions. From career highs to personal challenges, this episode is raw, funny, and packed with insights. 1 Anxiety and Depression - The Medical Perspective with special guest, Dr. William Becker, Psychiatrist 42:54
Anxiety and Depression are rampant in our society - but do we confuse anxiety with stress? Do stress and anxiety lead to depression? How do we know if we are just sad or clinically depressed? Information on the brain, on anxiety in youth and treatment options.…
Our negative thoughts can create anxiety, anger, resentment, jealousy—an array of emotions. Negative thinking is normal. However, if this way of thinking becomes incessant, it can lead to depression and self-destructive behavior like addictions, derailing us from what we want most in life. At minimum, negative thinking saps our energy, erodes our self-confidence and can put us in a bad mood. Certainly, many would agree that our thoughts come and go so quickly that it’s seems impossible to notice them, but with awareness and an attitude of self-compassion, we can redirect our negative thoughts to more positive ones. Listen in - and with my special guest, Donna Miller, we’ll talk about the power of thoughts and self talk – as THOUGHT PRECEDES FORM, and Donna will share with us about her journey as an example of what is possible for all of us.…
Victims of covert aggression (manipulation) don't often know why they feel so badly. They only know that they feel confused, anxious, or depressed. Gradually, however, they come to understand how dealing with a certain person in their lives makes them feel crazy. They get mad at them, but for some reason, end up feeling guilty themselves. They confront them about their behavior, only to end up on the defensive. Nothing they try seems to make things better. In the end, dealing with this person leaves them feeling confused, exploited and abused. Despite the fact that victims may be intelligent, resourceful and creative, most of the ways they've tried to understand and cope with the manipulative behaviors weren't getting them anywhere, and some things make matters worse. Tonight, with special guest, author Dr. George K. Simon, learn a new way to understand the character of manipulative people and be able to identify manipulative behavior WHEN IT OCCURS, to reduce the opportunities of being victimized.…

1 Clear Your Mind for Better Functioning! Special Guest, Gail Kreitzer of The Little Big Things 57:50
Regardless of power outtages (in the Northeast!) and spring cleaning practically overlapping - and quite possibly overwhelming - we can easily feel stress and anxiety trying to keep up with our busy lives. Listen in with my guest, Gail Kreitzer of The Little Big Things, LLC, as we explore the idea "dashboarding your mind" to clear the clutter and enhance executive functioning. Gail's system, My Dashboard Planner, is a visual way to get the "stuff" out of your head, organize it and take better, more effective action. The perfect storm, you say? How about the perfect plan.…

Are your beliefs poisoning your potential? Beliefs form the foundations of our expectations, and our expectations help us to better understand ourselves, others, and the world around us. They help us feel more certain about our future, which makes us feel safe and secure. These beliefs may have protected us when we were young, and that is why we hold onto them for so long. As an adult, however, these beliefs may no longer serve a purpose - they may even be a hindrance. If your life has changed, but your beliefs have remained constant, you may be feeling "stuck" in the present. Today we discuss how we form these beliefs, why they stick around, and what we can do to change them – in order to really live up to our potential!…
If your mood is as cold and dark as your landscape, you're in good company. It is that time of year (again) when gray skies and empty trees can lead to gray moods and staying indoors to hibernate. What’s more, as our energy lowers, so can our motivation for staying on track with those New Year’s resolutions we decided on only five weeks ago! (I know, right? It goes so quickly!). So, tonight we’re going to be addressing those winter doldrums, and what you can do to lift yourself up until that groundhog decides to come outside and stay. We’ll also take the time to talk about course correction on those resolutions – just in case things have gone a little astray.…
ANXIETY – the squeaky wheel. Anxiety is an emotion like any other - with its ebbs and flows. When anxiety starts building on itself, it gets very loud - like the toddler in the supermarket having a tantrum - and we can hear nothing else. Being an emotion, we can (more) simply, either lose control of, or gain control of it – like any other emotion – and our emotions serve a purpose. We have to understand the message inside the mood in order to name it, respond effectively and release it. We’ll begin to understand anxiety a little more, learn the message it's really sending, and then give it another job to do (instead of a time out).…

(re-broadcast) Addiction – from Latin which means attached against your will (quite appropriate). Most drugs of abuse work by flooding the brain with dopamine. Alcoholics and drug addicts have extremely low dopamine. These lower starting levels of dopamine in the brain lead to higher spikes when the substance is used. The high causes the crash and the crash causes the craving. Listen to hear special guest, Brian McAlister, speak of addiction, his recovery and his mission to help others find purpose and recover at Full Recovery Wellness Center and live life to the fullest.…

Most of us have been badly hurt or even betrayed by someone close to us. We know the healthy thing to do is to practice forgiveness, but how do we forgive when we are still angry or feel that the other person hasn't taken responsibility? We discuss this powerful and important topic to shift understanding of what it really means to forgive - and the balance between forgiveness, compassion, and self-respect - because forgiveness is actually about getting your power back - NOT giving it up!…
A smell, a phrase, a tone, a thought - any of them (and more) can send us reeling back to an experience we wish we never had. PTSD is the most notable form, but previous trauma- physical, mental and emotional - takes place in so many smaller ways as well. We often wonder whether we are just being dramatic, or if there is really something there. This show is about trauma, how we can identify if a past experience is affecting us, and what we can do about it - with a special guest who is a trauma therapist. They say grieving is a process. Loss is something we experience throughout our lives- disappointments, break-ups, and deaths are all part of life. However, not only can these experiences be painful and challenging because of their intensity, we often don't know how to talk about them, prepare for them, or know how to deal with them when they show up. We are often faced with loss and lack the power to deal, feel, and heal. In this show, we talk about how to grow and move through grief. We’ll discuss the five stages of grief, a few lessons to take from it, and then I’ll discuss a method used in grief coaching.…

Our emotions have a vast range, but the not-so-good ones can be the real buggers! Good emotions just feel, well, good - but the not-so-good emotions keep us out of alignment – not good. Sometimes the despair or grief we are feeling seems like it will never end, or the anger and resentment.Tonight we’re going to talk about the scale of emotions and how to consistently, and consciously, work your way "up" - from wherever you are. This is about incrementally moving up that scale, consistently, by consciously choosing thoughts. It is a practice, but it is a quantifiable destination as well.…
Big, fat, right in front of your face EXCUSES! Where there is a will, there is a way, yes, but sometimes we make excuses because we just prefer there isn't a way - so we don't have to take responsibility and be uncomfortable as we grow! Those of us who complain and blame, stay stuck. We insist that everything is out of our control. We hand all of our power over to our circumstances instead of taking responsibility and changing our lives ourselves - but Here’s The Thing…..an excuse is just a challenge that you give your power to. To shift your reality, you must control your thoughts and actions. Success is not about your circumstances. It's about who you are BEING.…
We make room for a remarkably narrow range of personality styles. We are told that to be great, is to be bold. To be happy, is to be sociable. We see ourselves as a nation of extroverts – which means we’ve lost sight of who we really are. In this show, we are talking about the spectrum of introversion through ambiversion, all the way to extroversion, how to know where you are in that spectrum and the amazing benefits of all of it – particularly in this world that is a “CULTure of personality”.…

What we want is connection, freedom, abundance and energy - Love. What weighs us down and stops us is anger, resentment, being ungrateful, and not having clear boundaries – in essence, varying forms of fear – yes, fear. In everything we do, we are either moving towards love, or away from fear. It’s the flip side of the same coin. In the abundance loop, it starts with gratitude, then peace of mind, which leads to wise choices and positive outcomes. The friendly neighbor, your caring uncle, your funny friend, the short-tempered client, the angry co-worker, the frustrated classmate.....but the DIFFICULT person – that’s something different, right? It implies something negative, but without knowing WHY they are that way. We’ve all been there—trying valiantly to reason with an incredibly difficult person. The situation proves frustrating, maddening, and sometimes even frightening. The truth is, you can’t reason with an unreasonable person. However, there are proven techniques to better manage such dicey situations. Listen as we talk more about these difficult people, what makes them difficult, and how to deal with them so that life doesn't have to slow down just to avoid them!…

If you have or know someone in that stage of life, you know how important it is for them to be moving forward in the world feeling good about themselves. EVERYBODY wants it, BUT it’s not something that everyone is actively trying to create. What is that? Confidence. MY question is “why”. What is it about confidence that makes it an attractive feeling, a way of being, and ultimately, an identity trait? I am teeing up the conversation on the topic of confidence – and the differences between confidence, self-confidence and self-esteem. Yes, you heard that right. I believe that by breaking out the three, we can better identify where we are, and most importantly, take the necessary, appropriate and best next action to create the changes we desire. Everyone procrastinates to some degree occasionally, and that procrastination is as old as we are. It is defined as postponing an action despite the fact that we know there’s going to be a price to pay for the delay of it. It’s putting off what’s important, and getting caught up in the “what’s urgent” syndrome. It is the state of acting against your better judgment. It’s NOT about being lazy, and it rarely has to do with poor time management - and if procrastination is voluntary (because it is), why do we do it? Learn the two main reasons we procrastinate and tools to change those habits starting right now (not tomorrow).…
