In this episode of the Neuroscience Informed Christian Counseling podcast, we explore the powerful practice of Delighting—an essential skill in the NICC framework. Taken from the NICC Basic Training course, Delighting is the intentional act of sharing encouragement and affirmation with participants by reflecting positive truths about them. Through the practice of “Shining,” care providers mirror God’s affirming love, helping participants internalize their worth and identity in Him.
Drawing from biblical concepts like the Aaronic blessing and Jesus' baptism, Delighting fosters a healing environment where participants experience unconditional love and acceptance, empowering them to recognize their true value. Whether affirming strengths or encouraging growth, this practice serves as a bridge between intellectual knowledge and experiential truth, enabling lasting transformation.
