Manage episode 353894197 series 3434826
On this episode, Michael speaks to Maureen “Moe” Pierce, an educator for sexual abuse awareness and certified self-defense instructor. Her journey began at the young age of 8, after she became a survivor of abduction, assault, and rape.
Moe’s passion is to use her experience to help others not only defend themselves but for survivors to take their healing to the next level, by letting go of the shame and reclaiming their power.
She is certified in both the RAD Women and RAD Kids Self-Defense programs. She has also assisted law enforcement with instructor training in many states and assisted on college campuses with their RAD Self-Defense programs.
A proud wife and mom of four boys, her story was shared on NBC 11 Alive Atlanta, CNN, HLN, and she has appeared on follow-up programs to discuss sexual assault and personal safety. She was a speaker with Ed Smart (father of Elizabeth Smart), and she has presented to many schools and other organizations.
Her mission is to educate people on how they can recognize and avoid sexual assault and ways they can use their voice, as well as their power, to fight back!
