In the following podcast, Jackie McInley explores the nature of dialogue with Henry Fischer. This is part of an on-going series looking at the habitual ways we approach any topic with another person. Do we freely listen or do we bring beliefs and conclusions to our conversations and react from them? Are we more mechanical than we realize?
Some topics in this series include: What is dialogue, what makes it different? What does it mean to relate to someone directly? Is there a "psychological wound" which is commonly avoided? Can we see the movement of thought without any psychological separation from it?
As we continue to meet this mechanical process through direct observation and ask penetrating questions without relating to them from memory, do we begin to knock at the door of the what Krishnamurti calls "the immeasurable"?
