Let's GOOOO! Your life called and they are pissed. Need some juice to get that momentum you need to become more confident, get fit, be positive and motivated?
Join our I AM AWESOME! #30DayChallenge (note originally kicking off 1/15/24)
In this episode Coaches Polly & Sam guide and set you up for our kick butt "I AM AWESOME" Challenge. Note, if you're listening to this outside of the original launch period, you can still start TODAY! This is your life and wasting it is not acceptable.
We zoom in on the magic of 30-day challenges, a proven springboard for creating or breaking habits, and offer you not one, but two paths to glory. One aimed at physical fortitude and the other rewiring your mental and emotional programming. Coaches Polly and Sam share their personal experiences with 30 Day Challenges and the results and roadblocks they experienced. Why are 30 day challenges worth doing?
Ever thought a simple 5K a day (6,250 steps a day) could rewire your happy hormones? We lace up and explore how this sweet spot of movement could be your new best friend. It doesn’t matter if you're a walker, a runner, hiker, or someone who moves to their own beat- what matters is the ripple effect of good vibes through your entire life, courtesy of those HOPE molecules that come within every step. (Coach Sam)
Do you realize that negative self talk can be changed? Are you sick of the evil twin telling you who you are and ready to reprogram your brain back to reality? Take the 5min a day "I AM AWESOME" write, talk, or read to yourself challenge and begin to see how impactful positive (and negative) words are to your mood. (Coach Polly)
Coach Sam's challenge: Do a "5k-A-Day". This equates to 6,250 steps or around 3 miles. You can break it up, do it a mile at a time. Can be run, hike, walk...whatever! This is YOUR challenge. It's designed to help get you moving and keeping a commitment to yourself so you can see in 30 short days how good it feels to make and keep a commitment to yourself - even when it's hard. Expect inconvenient, uncomfortable and "I don't wanna" to show up. Sidestep the inner resistance, tackle what's ahead and get 'er done! If you're already doing more than this every day, perhaps you need to dial it back a bit. Alternatives could be taking your daily movement up by 10%, adjusting something about what you're already doing (mix it up!), and of course simply bringing more presence and self-awareness to being awesome and feeling awesome could be just the shift of perspective you need - and cost you nothing but focus.
Coach Polly's challenge: Reprogramming your inner self talk with 5 minutes a day out loud "I am awesome" repeats. Also writing out I am awesome can help rewire it in the brain. Hang post it notes around your environment to reinforce the messages you want your brain to align to. Practice, practice, practice! At first it feels soooo weird, but no surprise, because many of us are just not nice to ourselves. But now is your chance to let us show you what we think, the world thinks and what you soon will see as truth!
Sharing your victories online with the hashtag #IAmAwesome not only fuels your fire but also lights the way for others in our community. So, grab a friend, tag us (@everydayawesomeproject) in your posts, and remember...
