For this episode of The All-Around Adventure Podcast, I'm joined by graveyard keeper and death scholar, Aoife Sutton-Butler.

Aoife studied Bioarchaeology at my alma mater, the University of York in England. Following her graduation from York, we went on to the School of Archaeological and Forensic Sciences at the University of Bradford. Where she studied 19th-century anatomical specimens in medical museums for her PhD. Now, Aoife is the Cemetery Registrar for the Victorian Undercliffe Cemetery, and she has her own blog, the Pathological Bodies Project. She also runs an online death positive magazine called Mortiferous Muse. And has written for various other publications such as Haunted Magazine, the Feminine Macabre, and American Paranormal Magazine.

In this episode, Aoife tells us about what led her to study death in the way that she has. She also talks about death practices among different cultures around the world. As well as some of the lore around death from her home in rural Ireland. Furthermore, we also discuss Memento Mori, and how remembering that death comes for us all can make us appreciate life!
