Despite significant advances in U.S. medical care, racial disparities in preterm births persist among non-Hispanic (NH) black and NH white women. Can socioeconomic factors explain the differences in pre-term births between these groups? Listen to Dr. Jasmine Johnson, a maternal-fetal medicine fellow and clinical instructor at the University of North Carolina, discuss her research on “Racial disparities in prematurity persist among women of high socioeconomic status.” Dr. Johnson’s research can be found in the January 2020 AJOG release and on AJOG’s website.
