About Carrie Ann : Carrie Ann is an award-winning secondary science teacher and successful science edu-tainer.
Coming from a background of poverty, she found her path to a better life through science education. With a degree in Biochemistry and science communication, she chose to pursue a career in science education. It was in this field that she discovered her true calling – to inspire young minds and ignite their curiosity to explore the wonders of science, paving the way for a bright and promising future.
She is not only a teacher, but also a successful entrepreneur who helps other STEAM enthusiasts start or scale their own STEAM education businesses over in the STEAM Educators' Staff Room. Her dedication to STEAM education is evident in the creation of the annual Full STEAM Ahead conference, an inspiring annual gathering for STEAM educators to collaborate, network, skill share and socialise. She has just been awarded the Rising Star award in the Globant Awards Women That Build.
Her free online science lessons during lockdown earned her the Points of Light award from the Prime Minister. Carrie Ann believes that anyone can change their life through the right education and is committed to inspiring the next generation of scientists.
Carrie Ann lives in Carlisle, UK with her husband (Gary), 7-year-old daughter (Roxy), and Springer Spaniel (Loco). When she's not causing chemistry chaos in her own kitchen, you can find her on a countryside walk with her family."
