Opening Bible verse: Ecclesiastes 3:6

Do I personally LOVE to host a yard sale...YES! I've made $600 in one morning when we were first married. Do I encourage my declutter clients to host a yard sale...NO! However, if you are motivated to do this and/or you need some money to get your debt snowball rolling, then let's go for it! On today's podcast episode I share 5 tips with you to get the most out of your yard sale.

1. Tell Your Neighbors. A multi-family yard sale is always popular for customers because they are more likely to find a treasure when there are more families involved. Plus, setting a day and time with your neighbors will hold you accountable to actually put your stuff outside and make some money while clearing the clutter.

2. Advertise. Utilize all households involved to advertise on social media and in print. On the morning of the sale, use uniform signage for potential customers to find your sale.

3. Organize your stuff into categories. Make it as easy as possible for customers to find what they want. It's also easier for you to price a category rather than individual items.

4. Price to sell and negotiate. Fill a bag for a certain price. Negotiate. Don't let an interested buyer walk away without a sale. It's better to get something for your items than nothing! Remember, you want to make some money and get this stuff out of your house. These people are paying you to take away your stuff!

5. Arrange for pick up of any unsold goods. Nothing comes back into your house. List all items for free after the sale. Reduce the number of items you need to haul to the donate center.

Put the Blessed Mother in your window and ask her to give you a sunny day! Good luck!
