Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m Daniel MacQueen and I’m proud to bring you episode one (take a hundred and fifty) of my Podcast: Play loose look tight - documenting the process of life after. This podcast will look at life after all sorts of adversity thrown our way. We all face it. The loss of a job, the loss of someone important in our lives, the loss of a dream. In my case, we’re talking about life after a major brain hemorrhage in 2014. One day I was a healthy 28-year-old who was working, playing football and living the dream in London. The next I was in a coma fighting for my life. Today, almost six years later, I’m back at work and living every day to the fullest. I know I’ve been blessed with a second chance and I’m not going to waste it. In this double-barrelled episode, you will get to know what the show promises. In part one, you’ll meet me as I’m interviewed by Minal Fernandes. We dive into what content you can expect from the podcast, the format and who I’ll be talking to in future episodes. We will also understand what the heck, the name (play loose look tight) means. You’ll learn about the three reasons why I’m doing this podcast: Gratitude: I’m grateful for the world-class medical care that gave me back my life. Empathy: I feel for people struggling after a major setback in their lives. I’ve been there. I know how you feel. Perspective: My fight to come back from this near-death experience has changed my perspective on life. In part two you’ll hear about my medical history. You’ll learn about the brain surgery that went south, the resulting brain bleed, the coma and the ventilator. We dive into the medical file and go low, low, low to understand just how bad things got. You’ll learn about how I had to learn to walk, talk and smile again and the major rehab it took before I could return to work part-time about a year later. And you’ll learn about the “snag” two months after that sent me back to the hospital for one more dance with emergency brain surgery. You’ll hear about my best and worst medical memories and how the lessons I learned during my recovery can help anyone through all sorts of adversity. Welcome aboard. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/playlooselooktight/message
