This episode explains how the stigma associated with seeking care for mental health needs is being removed, and also shares the good news that there IS hope for those suffering with mental health conditions!

In today’s episode, we are joined by Jason Wilcox, PMHNP-BC. He is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides care to patients with mental health needs. He shares with us how providers like him are working to remove barriers associated with seeking care for mental health needs. He is passionate about educating the public and encouraging others NOT to allow the stigma associated with mental health issues be a barrier for seeking care. He does an excellent job of sharing the good news for those experiencing mental health issues, which is that there IS hope for the future! He discusses the importance of treating patients as if they are members of his own family so that no stone is left unturned when providing excellent patient care.

December is also Seasonal Affective Disorder Awareness Month. After our time with Jason, Amanda and I discuss Seasonal Affective Disorder. In this segment of the show, you will hear the following information:
