So, what do you do when your sexual energy levels just don’t match up? One partner might be feeling a bit neglected or even a little angry, which can create some serious tension in the relationship.

In this episode of The Language of Love Session, I’m bringing you an intimate counseling session with a brave duo, Brian and Stacey. They’re tackling some tough intimacy challenges, and their story is one that many of you might find relatable. Stacy has faced some significant sexual trauma, which understandably affects her ability to connect intimately with Brian. Meanwhile, Brian is craving that physical affection and deeper sexual connection. But here’s the twist: Stacy often feels discomfort and even a splash of anger in those intimate moments.

Here’s what we cover:

  • The power of and ways to validate one another’s other’s feelings
  • How trauma can affect your intimate life and what to look out for
  • The idea of creating “green zones” for intimacy—safe spaces where partners with a trauma history can engage sensually at their own pace
  • When it might be a good idea to hit pause on sex for now to rebuild trust and comfort
  • The role trauma therapy can play in healing, including some powerful techniques like somatic experiencing and EMDR to aid healing

I’d love to hear from you! If you have questions, stories, or just want to chat about this episode, email me at languageoflovepod@gmail.com or visit my website. Let’s keep the conversation going!

Also, whether you’re in a relationship or not, check out my free Quantum Sex course. It’s designed to enhance your sexual response and help you achieve full-body orgasms, use sex magic, and deepen your connection with your partner. Plus, if you or someone you love has a trauma history, the book I recommended was The Courage to Heal.
