In this episode, I sit down with Laura Zimmerman, a Pacific Northwest photographer who shifted from portrait to landscape photography after her retirement in 2020. Laura dives into her journey of rediscovering photography through experimental techniques, including Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) and Multiple Exposure ICM. Known for her abstract landscapes, Laura reflects on how the COVID lockdown provided her the opportunity to explore new creative realms, particularly around Lake Sammamish, where she crafted images with a profound emotional resonance.

Laura discusses the joy and unpredictability of experimenting with ICM, capturing the beauty of movement in nature, and the importance of embracing the unknown. We also explore how she balances her passion for photography with everyday life, her thoughtful approach to post-processing, and her perspective on photography’s role in today’s fast-paced, digital-driven world. From gallery features at home and abroad to her work in ICM Magazine, Laura’s story is one of transformation and creative exploration.

I hope you enjoy the show!
