This talk show discusses the life and extraordinary contributions of Charles Philip Brown (CP Brown), a 19th-century British officer who dedicated his life to Telugu language and literature. Despite a demanding career in the British government, he single-handedly collected, edited, translated, and published thousands of Telugu manuscripts, including classics and folk literature, effectively preserving a significant portion of Telugu literary heritage. Brown also authored Telugu grammars and dictionaries, significantly furthering the study of the language. His work was entirely self-funded and driven by personal passion, leaving an unparalleled legacy in Telugu studies.
