Kundan Lal Saigal (1904–1947) was a trailblazing Indian actor and singer, widely regarded as the first superstar of Indian cinema. Born in Jammu, Saigal’s journey from a railway timekeeper to a cinematic legend is truly inspiring. He joined New Theatres in Kolkata in the 1930s, where his unique singing style and soulful voice revolutionized Indian music.
