Dr Giles Yeo is an obesity geneticist, author and science presenter, who specialises in studying the control of bodyweight. He’s also pretty clued up on the supplements industry after participating in a TV investigation into it, so I made sure we addressed some of your listener questions about vitamin pills. In this episode of HealthHackers, you’ll hear: 🔹the reason why some people will always be more attracted to food than others 🔹why your brain hates it when you lose weight 🔹a reason why eating less and moving more may not have worked for you 🔹why liposuction for weight-loss will increase your chances of dying, according to Giles 🔹what happened to Giles’ weight when he tried a plant-based vegan diet 🔹his surprising findings from an investigation into supplements 🔹which vitamins can be dangerous, and even increase risk of death 🔹how to be savvy about marketing messages on supplements 🔹plus, which supplements Giles believes could be considered useful for children, teenage girls, vegans or women trying to conceive Thanks to the Royal Institution for having us to record this episode.
