Sean was diagnosed with stage four Bowel Cancer at the young age of 35 he gives great insight the good and the bad into his journey. With the increase of people getting Bowel Cancer under the age of 50 years of age Sean through his own journey wants to create greater awareness for the younger generations around bowel cancer and helping to prevent it.
It was a pleasure sitting down with Sean to chat about his journey.
Some of the key things we spoke about were:
• Sean having to let go of being a doctor and learning to be the patient.
•Trusting the team around him.
•The impact it has on family, carers, and partner.
He talks about the pain he experiences with the tumours, how you can prevent bowel cancer, living in the moment implementing meditation to help with pain management. Sean also talks about some of the darker moments he and his family have experienced along the way.
