On this week's episode, Francine sits down with Joseph Scalice (link), the Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, to unpack his new book The Drama of Dictatorship (link) which examines the period leading up to the declaration of martial law in the Philippines by Ferdinand Marcos in 1972 and uncovers the prominent role played by two Communist Parties, the PKP and the CPP, in these events.
