There's no question that Donald Trump's firing of the inspector generals on Friday evening violated federal law (which requires him to give Congress a 30-day notice of any potential inspector general firing.) Multiple Republicans have already spoken out about the measure, with Lindsey Graham even admitting that the move was illegal. The only problem is that there are no enforcement mechanisms to do anything about it.
Officials at the Trump White House have issued a "threat" to all Republicans who might be thinking about voting against Trump's cabinet nominees - confirm them, or else! The "or else" part is that "outside groups" may withhold campaign cash in the future and use it to instead fund primary challenges to any Republican that doesn't completely fall in line with Trump's agenda. That may not work out the way that Trump thinks.
Donald Trump's obsession with appearances has apparently rolled over into his mass deportations. According to new reports, the Trump administration has instructed the people carrying out his immigrant raids to "dress for the camera," making sure that they are wearing their official uniforms with logos visible everywhere. They want this to look as clean as possible on film so that people ignore the cruelty of what's actually happening.
Donald Trump has now admitted that he doesn't really care about dealing with inflation, saying over the weekend that it isn't his biggest priority. These sentiments were echoed by Vice President JD Vance on Sunday, when he told NBC's Meet The Press that prices would eventually come down, but it'll take some time. These two men won the election due to economic concerns - that was the top issue, no matter what the administration tells you - and they are already admitting they aren't doing anything about it.
