Today's episode is a VERY special one. If you have been a regular listener you will know today's guest was a DREAM podcast guest of mine: AFRICA BROOKE. It is also a super important conversation to be tapping into given the world we find ourselves navigating, particularly in the online space. It may also trigger you. We dive straight into her open letter she wrote in 2021 that gained more than 3m views and counting (see linked below), the rise of cancel culture and its impact, finding your true voice and how establishing your values, being curious and being vulnerable is key and finally how to overcome self censorship.
If you havent If you are yet to be introduced to her work she is is a globally recognised consultant, mentor, speaker, and writer who specialises in helping people in and out of the public eye move through self-censorship, and other forms of self-sabotage. Africa’s work takes a close look at the complexity, mess, and glory that is the human experience, and she makes a strong case for why we need to accept discomfort as an essential part of the growth process.
It was an absolute honour and I hope this conversation sparks some positive change in your conversationships and interactions with others. Please share takeaways with me in the DMs on you stories and definitely leave an apple podcast review if you enjoyed the episode!
