Holocaust Survivor and Cantor Fishel Goldig will join Rabbi Yisroel Bernath for a special Pre-Yom Kippur Event that is sure to get you into the spirit

Listen to Fishel talk about Yom Kippur during the Holocaust and his incredible story of survival. Hear Rabbi Bernath’s words of inspiration and as a special treat Cantor Fishel will share Songs from the Ghetto and perhaps a few surprises.

About Fishel Goldig

Fishel Goldig was born in 1933 in Mielnica, Poland (today Ukraine). At the beginning of 1942 Fishel and his family were forced to move to the Borszczow ghetto. Most of his family eventually escaped the ghetto and lived in the forest for several months. He and several family members were taken in by a Ukrainian farmer, where they lived in a hole in a potato cellar for 22 months. After liberation, Fishel’s family spent two years in a DP camp in Pocking before immigrating to Canada. They settled in Montreal where Fishel went to yeshiva, studied literature, art and singing, and pursued a career in business. In 2017, Fishel was chosen by Canada to participate in the opening of the official Holocaust Memorial in Ottawa. Fishel is a seasoned cantor and will be sharing by his story and the beloved music of his childhood.

Rabbi Yisroel Bernath is the Senior Rabbi at Rohr Chabad NDG in Montreal, Canada. Cherished for his incredible warmth and non-judgmental personality, he is not your typical rabbi. In 2012, Rabbi Bernath founded JMatchmaking International, a network of Jewish dating sites. He has made several dozen matches to date! In addition to being a matchmaker and dating coach, Rabbi Bernath is also the author of three books, and continuously produces engaging content on his many social media & podcast platforms.
