Well you might be feeling the effects of the “Bystander Effect” A social phenomenon that causes people to be less likely to help others in public environments.
The murder of Kitty Genovese popularized the “Bystander Effect,” because when the murder took place, the victims neighbors were less likely to help kitty because they, “Did not want to get involved,” even when rushing to her aid would have saved her life.
