Today I chat with Anthony Vela and we find out a little more about the man who directs many of the international SUP events world wide. A few fun facts about AV; he was born an hour from the coast, didnt go in the ocean as a kid, was heavily into skateboarding as a kid, found the ocean late in his teens, begun his career as a lifeguard in his 20s, went to Aus and did many summers competing in Surf Life Saving, in the late 2000s found SUP, won the first ever Carolina Cup, is involved as a director with ISA & APP, and runs a paddle club! Plenty more in there as we discuss so many things about his life and a really good chat about the state of the sport towards the end!
