This week I talk about anxiety. There’s so much that we don’t know about it yet, and it can be very similar to ADHD. It can affect our personal lives and our parenting. So, how we can spot it? What can we do about it? I share so much more in this episode!

About a year and a half ago, I was listening to a talk by Mel Robbins. She was talking about how girls go undetected for ADHD because the symptoms are so different from symptoms in boys. Boys tend to be very hyper, jumpy, and active and in girls, the symptoms are almost the opposite. Girls will be really quiet and cannot focus.

When she mentioned that, I was curious about it, and I got the book that Mel mentioned. I started reading about ADHD and I resonated with a lot of stories in the book. At that time, I was struggling with focusing on tasks. I sent an email to my doctor that I might have ADHD. After I passed the screening for ADHD, I was put on medication for ADHD.

In this episode, I discuss more about how what I was experiencing was not actually ADHD, but it was anxiety. The symptoms were so similar! I talk more about how anxiety can manifest itself in the body and how nuanced it can be for different people. I share more about how anxiety affects my personal life, but I also share some techniques that have been very helpful for me to take care of myself.

Book I mentioned on ADHD: “Driven to Distraction” by Edward Hallowell.

I would love to hear from you!
