Cuban Link, one of my favorite and underrated rappers of the nineties era once said, and I’m paraphrasing, feathers on a bird don’t always flock together, sometimes they fall off and disappear in the stormy weather. Now wait a minute. That first part didn’t sound right. what exactly did he mean with that line. And why did he say it that way? Well, of course he was referencing the old adage, birds of a feather flock together, meaning people of the same kind will associate with one another and quite possibly build friendships and alliances. This is very true. But what about the second part. What happens when there’s stormy weather. What happens when those associations or friendships are put to the test?
