In this episode, we discuss a book entitled Models-Based Practice in Physical Education written by world-renowned physical education scholars Drs. Ash Casey and David Kirk. We are very fortunate to have Dr. Casey join us from the United Kingdom.
Dr. Ash Casey is a Senior Lecturer in Pedagogy at Loughborough University. His research focuses on Models-Based Practice, teacher learning/research, and the use of new technologies in learning. Ash is an Associate Editor of the peer-reviewed journal Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy (Routledge) and is the author, co-author, and editor of four Routledge books while continuing to publish regularly in leading education research journals. He is active on social where you connect with him directly on Twitter @DrAshCasey. Alongside his impressive publication record, Dr. Casey has his own podcast and blog entitled Physical Education Practitioner Research Network (PEPRN). Both are among the Health and PE profession’s most pupular resources, not only in the U.S., but around the world.
In addition to Dr. Casey, we have invited current graduate students who are taking a curriculum course with Dr. Seymour at Canisius College. Dr. Casey and Kirk’s Book - Models-Based Practice in Physical Education is the required textbook for the class.
