Nate P. Testimony
Manage episode 433212458 series 3456142
Born on a naval air station in Lemore, California in 1984, Nate is the oldest of 2 boys, with a younger brother named Chris. His father mike was in the navy, so they were constantly moving around and staying with different people and staying in different situations when he was younger. He never really remembers being able to set down roots and make friends anywhere until his dad got out of the navy after 8 years and made a choice of the good of his family over subjecting his family to military life. His dad got out the military and started working for State Farm Insurance company. One day while Nate was younger while they were living in California, Nates mother Kaye got sick out of the blue and life changed drastically for the family. Dads work transferred him to Arizona when Nate was in the 4th grade, which was actually a blessing in disguise for him. He started middle school and felt out of place with white mormon kids he met bc he didn't feel good enough. He fell right into place with the Mexican kids that he met when all the families of the kids took Nate right in and started feeding him alot!! Living in Arizona allowed for his mom to go to the Mayo Clinic and see all sorts of doctors but she never did get a medical diagnosis from her medical team. Growing up Nate always remembers going to either an Assemblies of God church or a local Foursquare church with his family but it wasn't until he moved to Arizona that he actually met friends who were following after God and Loving Jesus. He went to a retreat and it was at that retreat where he remembers being convicted of his sin in his life because he wasn't living right with some hidden parts of his life that no one knew about. In high school he went out for football but wasn't big enough which is funny because he's a big man if you know him today. He went out for basketball and got grounded, it was always something when he tried out for different sports, but when he found band everything started to fall into place for him. He started in the big burly section of wind instruments of the clarinet then moved onto the saxophone, but soon he found percussion, which just naturally led to the marching band. Listen to this story of how God can use one man to lead his family and raise them in Godly ways and at the same time serve at his local church, and still be a leader in the law enforcement community today. God has great things ahead for Nate just like he has great things ahead for you!!!
