When Eric Arce was told he had Thyroid Cancer in his early thirties, the whole world slowed down and he had to take some time to reevaluate his life. The journey through cancer led him to leave his Ph.D. program and follow his dream of becoming a photographer.
Eric (he/him/his) is now a photographer based out of Salt Lake City by way of Los Angeles. He loves narrative storytelling and focuses on people's passion for biking. He's freelanced for companies such as Patagonia, National Geographic, Bikepacking.com, The Radivist, and Outside Magazine.
In this episode, Eric talks with DZ about how he fell in love with biking on his very first ride, how a biking injury revealed he had cancer, how he incorporates his passion for social justice into his photography, and much more!
