Masculinity is a HUGE social topic currently, as men grapple with what it means to ‘be a man,’ and how to lead a life they are proud of.

In a time where our society is flooded with conflicting messaging and impossible standards of masculinity, the men in our lives can struggle mentally and emotionally trying to reach a ‘bar’ of manliness that isn’t realistic.

Kip Ioane joins the show this week to help us tackle the conversation around modern masculinity and how to be a healthy, fulfilled man.

He gives his best insights from his work as a college basketball coach and founder of the Teams of Men organization, a company dedicated to educating male athletes on how to heal their ideas of what it means to be a man.

This powerful conversation is for both men AND women, and serves as just the beginning of the necessary work to help ease the pressures of “being a man” and what happier, healthier man can create in our society.

In this episode you will learn:

  • How masculinity is learned overtime, and modeled for us by the men we look up to.

  • What the “Man Box” is, and how it perpetuates harmful behavior perpetrated by the men in our lives.

  • How to begin parenting our boys so they grow up with healthier senses of identity and masculinity.

  • The basic emotional intelligence work that men and women can do to better understand their feelings and heal their trauma.

  • How unhealthy masculinity leads to aggression and isolation, and how that manifests within our society.
