Amarii Davu is an American hip hop recording artist from Nashville, TN. Growing up in the inner city during the 90’s, Davu honed into his interest in music at the age of 11 by writing as a way to escape his day to day reality. At 16, Davu began his career with rap group, “The Remedy." He released two projects with the trio before embarking on his solo journey. During his collegiate years, Davu began to take his dreams more seriously. In 2011, under the moniker Black Noize, he released his first solo album entitled “6:15 Daydreamsz”. The project was received with great reviews from fans, blogs and publications alike. He was also nominated for two music awards: A Nashville Independent Music Award for Best Hip Hop Solo Artist and a Hip Hop in the Ville Award for Artist on the Rise. In 2012, Amarii decided to take a break from hip hop. However, a year later, hip hop came searching for Amarii. In July of 2015, he released his first single “The Cost of Melanin”, from his highly-anticipated project, “Khepri”. In March 2016, Amarii made his performance debut at the SXSW Music & Film Festival in Austin, TX. Shortly after, he released his second single, “Hopeless”, featuring vocalist Auriel and saxophonist Lee Jackson. In addition, Davu decided to launch a mental health initiative sharing a similar title called “The Hopeless Blueprint”. Today, Davu is currently working on and promoting his upcoming debut album, Hotel Nashville. Instagram:@amariidavu Hosts: @ambitious1k, @bookquethedj , @thresholdbrace Podcast powered by Spreaker.
