The Wings are not making playoffs this year, but the future is looking bright. 2021 6th overall pick Simon Edvinsson made his NHL debut this week and impressed the Yzerman faithful against a very good Avs team.
Edvinsson isn’t the only prospect to sing praise for - Marco Kasper, the Wings’ latest draft pick (2022 8th overall), was just named Austria’s player of the year. He’s the youngest to receive this award, so this could very well be a steal at 8th overall!
