In this week's episode, I had the opportunity to speak with Ivenetta Smith, a General Engineer for the Navy. Ivenetta discusses her introduction to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) at a young age and how it motivated her to persevere as she majored in Mathematics and Civil Engineering. Ivenetta also shares her challenges as she transitioned from being surrounded with people of color in college to being the only person of color in her field at the workplace.
