Jeff Siembieda (1983-88) is the executive director of the Isleta New Mexico Bowl, the co-host of the "Opening Drive" sports talk radio show on KNML The Sports Animal, and a former television anchor and reporter. He's been honored as the New Mexico Sportscaster of the Year three times.
In a vast decorated career, Siembieda explains why he's most proud of the creation and longevity of the college football bowl game, and the story that's told to spectators and TV viewers annually.
Siembieda also details what it's like planning 364 days for one game a year, balancing the difference between journalist and entertainer on the radio, getting started doing grunt work at KUSI in San Diego, learning all jobs in a TV newsroom ... and even his favorite makeup tips through the years.

"Where Ya At?" is a podcast focused on the School of Journalism and Media Studies at San Diego State University. Each week, during the Fall and Spring semesters, host Josh Suchon (Class of 1996) interviews alumni to learn about their experiences as college students, entering the workforce, key steps in their professional development, advice they'd give to current students, and details about how they covered a specific story.
