Genesis Chapter 8 marks the turning point of the flood story, showcasing God’s faithfulness and the hope of new beginnings. After 150 days, the floodwaters begin to recede, and the ark comes to rest on the mountains of Ararat. Noah patiently waits for God’s timing, sending out birds to check if the land is dry. Once the Earth is ready, God commands Noah, his family, and the animals to leave the ark. Noah’s first act is to worship God, offering sacrifices in gratitude.
