Good morning, weather watchers! This is your friendly neighborhood meteorologist with the latest forecast for the Columbus area.
Buckle up for a weekend of wet and wild weather! Tonight, we're looking at a cloudy evening with some patchy drizzle and temperatures dipping down to a mild 48 degrees. Expect some south winds dancing around 10 miles per hour, with gusts that might just tickle 21 miles per hour.
Saturday brings more of the same cloudy vibes, with a slight chance of rain and temperatures climbing to a surprisingly warm 60 degrees. Those south winds will keep things interesting, blowing between 8 to 13 miles per hour.
But hold onto your umbrellas, because Saturday night is when things get serious! We're talking a 100 percent chance of rain after 2 am, with potential rainfall between half and three-quarters of an inch. Temperatures will hover around 51 degrees.
Sunday is going to be a wet one, folks! Expect rain before 8 am, followed by showers, and possibly even a thunderstorm in the afternoon. Temperatures will peak near 63 degrees with some gusty winds up to 28 miles per hour.
The week ahead looks like a meteorological rollercoaster. Monday starts to dry out, Tuesday brings more rain, and by New Years Day, we might even see some snow flurries. Temperatures will gradually cool down, with highs dropping from the 60s to the 30s.
For those planning outdoor activities, I'd recommend keeping those rain jackets and umbrellas close at hand. This weather is more unpredictable than a cat on a hot tin roof!
