Good morning, Columbus! This is your weather wake-up call for a chilly weekend ahead.
We're looking at a mixed bag of meteorological mischief starting tonight. Expect rain and snow with temperatures hovering around 34 degrees. Winds will be dancing from the south at around 10 miles per hour, and there's a whopping 90 percent chance of precipitation. Don't worry snow lovers, we're not expecting much accumulation.
Saturday brings more rain, mainly before 11 in the morning. Temperatures will climb to a modest 40 degrees. Winds will shift from south to north, blowing between 8 and 11 miles per hour. Pack your umbrella because we're looking at a 100 percent chance of rain with about a quarter inch expected.
Saturday night gets serious about the cold. Temperatures will plummet to 19 degrees with north winds around 11 miles per hour. Sunday continues the winter drama with a potential snow shower after 9 in the morning. High temperatures will struggle to reach 23 degrees.
Martin Luther King Day looks like a deep freeze celebration with temperatures barely reaching 10 degrees. Monday night dips even lower to a bone-chilling 1 degree.
Tuesday through Thursday will be a parade of cold with mostly sunny skies and temperatures ranging from 12 to 30 degrees. Wednesday night drops to 10 degrees, and Thursday night settles around 15.
And hey, we've got a heads up an Extreme Cold Watch is in effect, so bundle up, Columbus!
