Good morning, Atlanta! This is your weather update for Thursday, January 8th, 2025.
Heads up, folks - we've got a Winter Storm Watch in effect, so buckle up for some chilly conditions!
Today's looking sunny but crisp, with temperatures climbing to a high near 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Those northwest winds will be whipping around at 10 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts up to 25 miles per hour. Better grab that warm jacket!
Tonight, expect mostly clear skies with temperatures dropping to a frosty 21 degrees Fahrenheit. Those northwest winds will continue to dance, blowing at 10 to 15 miles per hour with gusts up to 20 miles per hour.
Looking ahead to Friday, things get interesting. Snow is likely before 1 pm, potentially mixing with freezing rain. Temperatures will hover around 34 degrees Fahrenheit, with winds shifting from calm to east at around 5 miles per hour in the afternoon.
Friday night brings a 90 percent chance of precipitation - we're talking rain, snow, and possibly some freezing rain. Temperatures will dip to around 30 degrees Fahrenheit.
The weekend looks a bit more settled, with partly sunny skies on Saturday and temperatures reaching near 37 degrees Fahrenheit. Sunday brings sunny conditions and a high near 41 degrees Fahrenheit.
Next week starts off mild, with mostly sunny days and temperatures climbing to the low to mid 40s.
