Kevin brown went to the United States Military Academy at West Point. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant of Infantry and became Airborne and Ranger qualified before leading at the Platoon, Company, Battalion and Brigade levels, each time in a combat zone. In addition to these leadership roles he served on the Army staff in the Pentagon and at the Army’s premier counterinsurgency training center where he was the chief of plans on September 11th, 2001 when our nation was attacked. There he trained conventional and special operations forces for deployment worldwide, including Afghanistan and Iraq, during the Global War in Terror. He subsequently deployed his battalion to Iraq where his 1100 Soldier Task Force conducted counter insurgency operations against Al Qaeda in Iraq and the Islamic State of Iraq in Western Baghdad and Anbar province. He has completed the Army War College Strategic Studies Program and PhD work in Security Studies at Kansas State University.
