Self-image is like a mirror reflecting our perceptions about ourselves. From physical appearance, emotional stability, intelligence, and even professional performance and value, what we believe about ourselves matters. As WTF women, it is within our power to do something about it. Today I'm exploring four things that impact our understanding of ourselves. Together we'll explore how to develop and maintain a positive self-image and begin to embrace our true selves, imperfections and all!

In this episode, I discuss:

[2:20] How beauty standards unfairly keep us from celebrating and owning what makes us unique

[4:45] How motherhood can impact our self-image

[6:23] The harmful impact of social media platforms and how we can use them for good

[7:52] What Serena Williams can teach us about self-image and work performance

[9:18] Three things to help change the narratives that hold us back around our self-image

[11:02] Why we need to own our power to overcome gender bias

[12:15] How organizations can fight bias

[12:52] Brené Brown's book The Gifts of Imperfections and the impact it has had helping women confront perfectionism
