Today’s guest a is a well distinguished African American lesbian and a successful businessowner, of course we are talking none other than DA (Donna) the Barber the owner of Whiskey Beard Barbershop. Donna walks as through the challenges of coming out as a lesbian to her peers and family. A movement more challenging for an African American than their white counterparts. In the United States, 44% of LGBT students persons of color have reported experiencing bullying based on their sexual orientation. Further, African Americans tend to disagree with LGBT civil liberties more than their white counterparts. Likewise, she talks about the challenges of starting a business mostly dominated by men. In the US only 16% of barbers are females. Donna goes on to tell us how she and her business survived the covid-19 epidemic.
